In a slew of opinion pieces from both Republicans and Democrats over the weekend, it’s clear that Gov. Tom Wolf needs to agree to another debate after the charade of the Trebek debate at last week’s Pennsylvania Chamber Dinner.
The debate at the Pennsylvania Chamber Dinner was the only debate agreed to by Tom Wolf, despite being offered to hold debates in each of Pennsylvania’s 67 counties by Scott Wagner.
Asked about whether or not he will agree to another debate at his meeting with the PennLive Editorial Board Monday Tom Wolf again said he will not debate the issues face-to-face with Scott Wagner.
In response, Republican Party of Pennsylvania Chairman Val DiGiorgio, made the following statement:
“For the good of the voters and for the good of our democracy, we implore Tom Wolf to agree to another debate.
“By agreeing to another debate, Tom Wolf has the chance to change the public perception of his lack of transparency after he’s done things like refused to release the Amazon HQ2 deal and key aspects of the medical marijuana program.
“Voters across Pennsylvania deserve a side-by-side comparison of the candidates they are choosing between and that is best accomplished by a true debate with a full vetting of the issues.”
