PA GOP Chairman calls out Philadelphia Central High School teacher for indoctrinating students with liberal ideology

Republican Party of Pennsylvania Chairman Val DiGiorgio, an alumnus of Philadelphia’s Central High School, has sent a letter to Philadelphia School District Superintendent Dr. William Hite urging an investigation into conduct by the school’s Social Studies Department head that appears to be improperly indoctrinating students with his personal liberal political ideology.

The matter was brought to Chairman DiGiorgio’s attention by fellow alumni of Central High School who received reports from current faculty of the inappropriate conduct.

A copy of the letter, and the handout in violation, can be viewed HERE.

In addition to the letter, Republican Party of Pennsylvania Chairman Val DiGiorgio, made the following statement:

“As an alumnus of Central High School, I am extremely dismayed that conduct such as is being alleged is allowed to perpetuate.

“Political activity such as this is specifically prohibited by the employee handbook for the School District of Philadelphia, and as such, further investigation into the matter is warranted.

“As Chairman of the Republican Party of Pennsylvania, I am also concerned about the liberal indoctrination of students in public schools, which are meant to be an a-political place of learning, not a taxpayer-subsidized propaganda school.

“In an era lacking civility in public discourse and respect for divergent viewpoints, passing out materials like this is antithetical to the developments sought in our national dialogue.”
