Ed Rendell’s Third Term Taking Shape Under Tom Wolf

HARRISBURG — Republican Party of Pennsylvania Communications Director Megan Sweeney released the following statement regarding Governor-elect Tom Wolf’s recent announcements regarding his Cabinet and staff.

“How is recreating Ed Rendell’s Cabinet signifying a ‘fresh start’ for Pennsylvania?” Sweeney asked. “Tom Wolf promised to bring a fresh perspective to Harrisburg, but instead he’s chosen to surround himself with as many former appointees of Ed Rendell as possible.

“Perhaps Tom Wolf forgets how the Rendell administration left Pennsylvania with a $4.2 billion budget deficit and an unemployment rate of more than 8%. Exactly how many former Rendell appointees and Harrisburg insiders does Tom Wolf think it will take to bring a ‘fresh start’ to our Commonwealth?

“Every day, it’s becoming more apparent that Tom Wolf’s administration will continue the failed tax-and-spend policies of former Governor Ed Rendell. If Tom Wolf’s breaking promises before he’s even been sworn into office, how can Pennsylvanians trust him as Governor?”
