Tom Wolf Attacks Running Mate Mike Stack In New Ad

HARRISBURG — Republican Party of Pennsylvania Communications Director Megan Sweeney released the following statement regarding Tom Wolf’s recent attack on the transportation bill in a new television ad.

“Yesterday, Tom Wolf praised Governor Corbett and the General Assembly for passing a transportation plan. Today, he’s attacking Governor Corbett for the very same plan on television, a plan that was also supported by Wolf’s own running mate Mike Stack. Another day, another flip-flop from Wolf,” Sweeney said.

“Would Tom Wolf have refused to sign a bill that allows our emergency responders to get where they’re going as efficiently as possible? Will Tom Wolf also run attack ads against his pick for PA Democratic Party Vice Chair Jake Wheatley, who voted for the transportation bill Wolf is now criticizing? What about all of the Democrats who joined with Republicans in voting for the bipartisan transportation bill?

“Tom Wolf’s new position on transportation coupled with a brazenly political attack on Governor Corbett for improving Pennsylvania’s roads and bridges is backfiring. Perhaps Tom Wolf should call his own running mate before launching political ads with that are filled with old conjecture and short of current facts.”

At an event sponsored by the Erie Business and Manufacturers’ Association, Tom Wolf said, “I think we need to invest in the transportation infrastructure and I applaud the Legislature and the Governor for actually coming though, coming up with a transportation plan that actually allows us to fix our bridges and actually move our transportation infrastructure forward.” (“MBA Luncheon with Tom Wolf,” WJET/WFXP/YourErie.com, 8 11/14)
