PA GOP Chairman Appointed To New RNC Standing Committee On Presidential Primary Debates

HARRISBURG — In preparation for the groundbreaking 2016 Presidential Primary, Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus has appointed PA GOP Chairman Rob Gleason to the RNC’s Standing Committee on Presidential Primary Debates. The 13-member Committee is tasked with developing a schedule of sanctioned presidential primary debates for the first time in Republican history.

“I am deeply honored for the chance to play a role in shaping the 2016 Republican Presidential Primary,” Gleason said. “As we prepare to elect a new President, it’s absolutely critical that voters have the opportunity to hear from our candidates in the most practical and effective manner possible. I look forward to the opportunity to ensure that Pennsylvania has a voice in determining the schedule and format of the upcoming presidential debates.”

The Standing Committee on Presidential Primary Debates was developed “to determine when, where and on what networks GOP presidential debates will take place.” To read the RNC’s new rule regarding presidential debates, please click here.
