Democrat Candidates Agree On Raising Taxes, Not Much Else

HARRISBURG — Republican Party of Pennsylvania Chairman Rob Gleason released the following statement regarding tonight’s Democratic gubernatorial debate.

“If the Democratic gubernatorial candidates agree on one thing, it’s raising our taxes,” Gleason said. “For weeks, the Democratic gubernatorial candidates continue to put the deep divisions within their party on full display. However, every Democratic gubernatorial candidate wants to leave Pennsylvania taxpayers footing the bill for their out-of-control spending habits.

“While candidates such as Tom Wolf are content to spend first and pay later, Tom Corbett understands the importance of budgeting our resources wisely. Over the course of the past three years, Governor Corbett has delivered three on-time and balanced budgets that increased state funding for education without raising taxes. Tom Corbett’s policies have created 150,000 new private sector jobs, and reduced our unemployment rate to a five-year low.

“The Democratic gubernatorial candidates continue to argue, and Tom Corbett will continue to focus on creating jobs and solutions for Pennsylvania families.”
