HARRISBURG — Republican Party of Pennsylvania Chairman Rob Gleason released the following statement regarding this afternoon’s Democratic gubernatorial forum.
“The Democratic gubernatorial candidates have deep divisions that were very apparent at today’s debate,” Gleason said. “Instead of focusing creating new jobs, these Democratic gubernatorial candidates have made raising taxes on working Pennsylvanians to fund their out-of-control spending habits the centerpieces of their campaigns.
“Tom Corbett is working hard to provide opportunities for Pennsylvania families. Under the leadership of Governor Tom Corbett, Pennsylvania has created 150,000 new private sector jobs, and our unemployment rate has dropped to its lowest point in five years. Governor Corbett has invested more state funds in our schools than at any point in history, and he’s done it without raising taxes on Pennsylvania families.
“Tom Corbett is putting Pennsylvania back to work, and we can’t afford to turn back to the failed policies of the past now.”
