Chairman Gleason Applauds PA GOP Congressmen For IRS Votes

HARRISBURG — Republican Party of Pennsylvania Chairman Rob Gleason released the following statement regarding the ongoing investigation into the Internal Revenue Service’s treatment of conservative non-profit organizations.

“I applaud our Republican members of Congress for their votes to hold Lois Lerner in contempt of Congress,” Gleason said. “The American people deserve to learn the truth about the IRS’ targeted investigations of conservative non-profit organizations. Lois Lerner claimed her innocence before Congress, but immediately invoked the Fifth Amendment when asked to further explain her actions. Her actions show a complete lack of respect for the type of transparency that the American people should expect from their government.

“It’s time for Attorney General Eric Holder to listen to the House and appoint a Special Prosecutor who can get to the bottom of Lois Lerner and the IRS’ questionable actions.”
