HARRISBURG — Republican Party of Pennsylvania Chairman Rob Gleason released the following statement regarding Governor Corbett’s announcement of a working commission to fight opioid abuse.
“Today is another great example of Tom Corbett’s leadership on an issue that is costing families the lives of their loved ones,” Gleason said. “Throughout his career as Attorney General and as Governor, Tom Corbett has had a stellar record of keeping our citizens safe. Opioid and heroin abuse are serious problems in our communities and I thank Governor Corbett for putting the force of the Governor’s Office behind this initiative so that it receives the attention it deserves.
“Today’s announcement is a strong step in the fight against opioid and heroin abuse, and I applaud Governor Corbett for taking decisive action on such a critical issue in our Commonwealth.”
