Senator Vulakovich To Chair Communications/Technology Committee

State Senator Randy Vulakovich

State Senator Randy Vulakovich (R-40) was appointed by Senate President Pro Tempore Joe Scarnati to serve as Chairman of the Senate Communications and Technology Committee for the 2013-14 Legislative Session.

“I would like to thank Senator Scarnati for this assignment,” said Senator Vulakovich. “As a former police officer, I am very concerned about emergency communications. I will be working closely with the Law and Justice Committee to ensure that the 800 Megahertz radio system is completed. I will also be reviewing the implementation of Chapter 30 and will be acting on Data Breach and other privacy issues.”

All new legislation related to communication and/or technology issues must be considered and approved by the committee before it can be taken up by the full Senate for consideration.

Senator Vulakovich’s additional committee assignments for the upcoming session will be announced prior to the reconvening of the Senate on Jan. 22, 2012.

Senator Vulakovich announced that Nate Silcox of his staff will serve as the Executive Director of the Committee. Silcox currently serves as the Senator’s Legislative Director and previously served as Executive Director of the Senate Local Government Committee.
