Romney Must Expose Obama’s Lies

Pittsburgh Tribune-Review

Barack Obama and Mitt Romney debate for the third and final time Monday night. Foreign policy is the topic. And it’s the perfect time for Mr. Romney to dispatch with Mr. Obama once and for all by exposing the president’s proclivity for plasticine prevarication. For Obama all too easily, like clay, molds fictions into “facts” to avoid responsibility for failures.

To wit, the administration repeatedly blamed the Sept. 11 attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya, which claimed the life of the U.S. ambassador and three others, on a spontaneous citizen riot caused by an Internet video considered blasphemous by Muslims.

But the media quickly ascertained there was no spontaneous protest. It was a terrorist attack. The Obama administration stuck to its false narrative for 14 days, even chastising the media for reporting otherwise — until the evidence made it impossible to lie anymore, that is.

Then, during the debate of Tuesday last, President Obama attempted to rewrite history by saying he clearly labeled the attack an “act of terror” in a Rose Garden statement on Sept. 12.

Never mind that the video clearly shows Obama’s words — actually “acts of terror” — were in reference to the 11th anniversary of 2001’s 9/11 terrorist attacks.

There’s nothing “subject to interpretation,” as some claim.

That Barack Obama can lie with such volubility is a tragedy for this nation. And that’s a point that Mitt Romney must be relentless in driving home on Monday night.
