Pennsylvania Congressional Democrats refuse to oppose giving illegal aliens the right to vote

Friday, the U.S. House of Representatives passed H.R. 1, legislation masked as voting reform that is nothing short of a measure designed to protect the Democrat majority and enhance government say in what constitutes free speech.

In the consideration of H.R. 1, Texas Congressman Dan Crenshaw moved to recommit the legislation with instructions to include language that would have reaffirmed—in the face of municipalities granting illegal aliens the right to vote—that “allowing illegal immigrants the right to vote devalues the franchise and diminishes the voting power of United States citizens.”

Instead of reasserting the sanctity of citizen suffrage, every single Pennsylvania Congressional Democrat voted against the measure. All Pennsylvania Republicans voted to support the motion to recommit.

In addition, Congressman Dan Meuser was on the House Floor last night speaking out against H.R. 1, pointing out what it is: “A big government, central command takeover of our elections by the new House majority.”

In response, Republican Party of Pennsylvania Chairman Val DiGiorgio, made the following statement:

“As they continue their march to the socialist left, Pennsylvania’s Congressional Democrats today showed they stand more with illegal aliens than with protecting the integrity of the election process.

“H.R. 1 is nothing short of a Trojan horse masked as voting reform measures, but ultimately is a progressive power grab that could ultimately limit free speech, diminish the role of federalism, and weaken voter protections.”
