Monday, in a recognition of the hurtful and callous nature of his latest ad falsely claiming that Lou Barletta would end health coverage for those with preexisting conditions—especially claiming to end coverage for children with cancer—while knowing Lou Barletta’s grandson battles cancer, Bob Casey pulled down the ad in the Scranton media market.
However, the ad remains up in the rest of the state.
In response, Republican Party of Pennsylvania Chairman Val DiGiorgio, made the following statement:
“If Bob Casey agreed that the ad is too hurtful to air in Congressman Barletta’s home media market, then why did he leave it up in the rest of the state?
“The fact is that these false and hurtful allegations made by Bob Casey remain false and hurtful in all media markets.
“Bob Casey should pull down his ad in the rest of Pennsylvania and immediately apologize to the Barletta family.”
