PRESS RELEASE: In Philadelphia, Tom Wolf once again stands with special interest donors over the people of Pennsylvania

Today in Philadelphia, Tom Wolf will be speaking at a press conference with one of his largest special interest donors, Planned Parenthood. Calling Tom Wolf a “reproductive healthcare champion,” Planned Parenthood has committed $1.5 million to the Governor’s reelection campaign.

Since being in office, Tom Wolf has shown he has more interested in siding with this special interest donor than with the people of Pennsylvania.

In his first three years in office, Tom Wolf has vetoed bipartisan legislation prohibiting abortions after 20 weeks of gestation, threatened to veto legislation prohibiting abortion solely based on a diagnosis of Down syndrome, and promised to veto legislation prohibiting abortion at the first detectable heartbeat without even seeing the actual bill.

In response, Republican Party of Pennsylvania Communications Director Jason Gottesman made the following statement:

“Tom Wolf’s record with supporting special interest groups that donate to his campaign, like Planned Parenthood, show his record is so tied to their viewpoints that he has lost sight of bipartisan proposals and the true views of Pennsylvania voters.

“Since being in office, Tom Wolf has proven his true constituency is his large campaign donors and not the people of Pennsylvania.”
