PRESS RELEASE: June jobs numbers show continuing value of Republican-led tax cuts

Friday, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics released June jobs numbers, showing the United States increased the total number of jobs by 213,000, higher than the 195,000 predicted.

While the unemployment number now rests at four percent, the increase can be attributable to an larger labor force, reflecting confidence in Americans’ ability to find a job and reenter the workforce after years of a recession-era economy.

In response to the jobs report, Republican Party of Pennsylvania Chairman Val DiGiorgio made the following statement:

“Today’s jobs numbers reflect the continued success and value of the Republican-led tax cuts that have put more money in the pockets of job creators and working Americans.

“While obstructionists like Bob Casey wanted you to believe these tax cuts would not have a broad-based positive impact, the continued economic boom, strong jobs numbers, and increasing labor force have proven them wrong.

“In addition, here in Pennsylvania, while Tom Wolf and John Fetterman are scheming over ways to take back the tax cut given to Pennsylvanians as a result of Republican leadership, Scott Wagner and Jeff Bartos are putting forward a pro-taxpayer, fiscally responsible platform that they will carry into the Governor’s office.”
