Republican Eric Nelson Wins 57th Legislative District Special Election

HARRISBURG — Republican Party of Pennsylvania Chairman Rob Gleason released the following statement regarding Eric Nelson’s victory in the 57th Legislative District Special Election today.

“Congratulations to State Representative-elect Eric Nelson on his victory in today’s Special Election,” Gleason said. “At a time when Governor Tom Wolf is trying to drastically raise our taxes, Eric Nelson will be a strong voice for conservative values at a time when it’s desperately needed in Harrisburg. As a father of six, Eric understands the disastrous effects the Wolf tax hikes would have on the budgets of families.”

“Tonight’s victory is a clear sign that the Republican message of economic freedom and individual liberty is resonating with Pennsylvania voters.

“I want to congratulate Speaker of the House Mike Turzai and House Majority Leader Dave Reed for their efforts to win this election. We look forward to continuing to build on this enthusiasm as we work to put a Republican in the White House, re-elect Senator Toomey, and win for our candidates up and down the ticket.”
