Harrisburg, Pa. — Today, U.S. Senator Pat Toomey (R-Pa.) endorsed the Republican judicial ticket; Judge Judy Olson, Judge Mike George, and Judge Anne Covey for Supreme Court. He also endorsed Judge Emil Giordano for Superior Court, and Paul Lalley for Commonwealth Court.
Senator Toomey noted the importance of electing judges with a proven track record of fairness and integrity. He also noted that Pennsylvania courts are in need of reform-minded and experienced judges who will uphold the rule of law.
“I am proud to endorse Supreme Court candidates Judge Judy Olson, Judge Mike George, Judge Anne Covey, Superior Court candidate Judge Emil Giordano and Commonwealth Court candidate Paul Lalley,” Senator Toomey said. “Our court systems play a critical role in the success of our Commonwealth. Pennsylvania deserves qualified jurists with the character and qualifications to serve on our courts.
“Not since 1704 has there been three vacancies on Pennsylvania’s Supreme Court. We also have vacancies to fill on Pennsylvania’s Superior and Commonwealth Courts. With so much at stake, it is critical that we elect judges who have experience in the courtroom, and who believe in interpreting our nation’s laws and Constitution, not legislating from the bench. With combined decades of experience, Judge Olson, Judge George, Judge Covey, Judge Giordano, and Paul Lalley will bring competence and integrity to their respective courts. I wholeheartedly support all five Republican candidates and look forward to helping them towards victory this November.”
