Extension Deadline Passed: Where Are Tom Wolf’s Latest Tax Returns?

HARRISBURG — Following up on the news that Tom Wolf had filed for an income tax extension six months ago, Republican Party of Pennsylvania Communications Director Megan Sweeney released the following statement.

“Why is Tom Wolf hiding his latest income tax returns?” Sweeney asked. “This spring, Ed Rendell’s former Revenue Secretary Tom Wolf asked for an extension for his income taxes. Six months later, Tom Wolf refuses to make his 2013 income taxes available to the public. What is Tom Wolf hiding now?

“Tom Wolf pays a tax rate that’s less than half that of the average Pennsylvania taxpayer, but that’s still not fair enough for him. While Tom Wolf wants to raise the state income tax by 188%, he won’t allow the public to view his own tax returns.

“If Tom Wolf is this comfortable hiding information from the public as a candidate, how could we trust him in office?”

On April 17th, the York Daily Record reported that Tom Wolf had filed for an extension of his 2013 income taxes. Six months later, Secretary Wolf has yet to make those income taxes available to the public. (Ed Mahon, “Tom Wolf releases tax return information,” York Daily Record, 4/17/2014)
