PA GOP Releases Statement On PA June Jobs Report

HARRISBURG — Republican Party of Pennsylvania Chairman Rob Gleason released the following statement regarding Pennsylvania’s latest unemployment report.

“Today’s announcement serves as further proof that Governor Tom Corbett’s policies are putting our Commonwealth back to work,” Gleason said. “While Democrats such as President Barack Obama and Tom Wolf spend their time attacking jobs, Governor Tom Corbett has created over 150,000 new private sector jobs. Under his leadership, Pennsylvania’s unemployment rate has plunged to a 5-year low.

“Today’s unemployment news is an encouraging sign for our Commonwealth, and I look forward to seeing such a positive trend continue in the coming months.”

Today, the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry announced that Pennsylvania’s unemployment rate has dropped to 5.6%. The national average stands at 6.3%.
