HARRISBURG — Republican Party of Pennsylvania Communications Director Megan Sweeney released the following statement regarding news that Tom Wolf and members of Philadelphia’s City Council held a closed-door political meeting in City Hall.
“Today, Tom Wolf and members of Philadelphia’s City Council chose to use a taxpayer-funded property as their secret campaign headquarters,” Sweeney said. “City Hall should not be used as an extension of Democrat Party headquarters. Tom Wolf’s secret meeting in City Hall is a brazen slap in the face of openness and transparency and serves as a reminder of his tepid response to the latest scandals among Philadelphia’s Democratic representatives.
“Tom Wolf and friends are trying to defend their actions by saying no official business was conducted, so they should come forward and gives some answers as to what exactly was discussed.”
According to a report in The Philadelphia Daily News, Tom Wolf took part in the caucus session of the Philadelphia City Council today. The report noted that Wolf asked for the members’ support for his gubernatorial campaign.
