HARRISBURG — Republican Party of Pennsylvania Chairman Rob Gleason released the following statement regarding the Democrats’ latest attack in the War on Coal.
“Barack Obama and Tom Wolf will put Pennsylvania’s coal jobs at risk no matter the impact on Pennsylvania,” Gleason said. “After Washington Democrats failed in their attempt to pass a cap-and-trade law through Congress, President Obama decided to crush one of Pennsylvania’s greatest job creators through back-door regulations that will drive up energy costs and threaten jobs.
“While liberals in Washington are working to impose cap-and-trade on our nation, Tom Wolf wants to force cap-and-trade onto our Commonwealth. At a time when Governor Tom Corbett has created more than 150,000 new private sector jobs in the face of the Obama economy, why does Tom Wolf want to put a single Pennsylvania job at risk?
“Today’s announcement is just the latest sign that Democrats are more concerned about appeasing their liberal special interest groups than fighting for jobs.”
Tom Wolf has announced plans to impose emissions caps in Pennsylvania as well as enter into the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative. (“Climate Change,” WolfforPA.com, Accessed 6/1/2014)
