HARRISBURG — Republican Party of Pennsylvania Chairman Rob Gleason released the following statement regarding the ongoing national Veterans’ Administration hospital crisis.
“Our veterans risk their lives to serve their country, and now President Obama and the administration is failing them,” Gleason said. “As a veteran, I am disgusted at the news of these systemic failures in the care of those who bravely served our country. Our veterans put their lives on the line to protect our freedoms, and they deserve quality health care when they return.
“Five years ago, veterans were promised better care at their VA hospitals by their Commander-in-Chief. Sadly, many of our veterans have had their health put at risk, and we cannot stand for it.
“I support the call for an independent investigation into the tragedies surrounding our VA hospitals. It is time to hold accountable those who have put my fellow veterans at risk at the VA hospitals.”
