HARRISBURG — Republican Party of Pennsylvania Chairman Rob Gleason released the following statement regarding the latest Democratic gubernatorial debate.
“It’s time for the Democratic gubernatorial candidates to stop blaming Governor Tom Corbett for the failed policies of a previous Administration that they want to resurrect,” Gleason said. “Democrats in the previous Administration raided the state education budget in order to pay for their out-of-control spending and covered their tracks with one-time stimulus funds.
“Governor Corbett has invested more state funds in education than any Governor in history. Governor Tom Corbett’s educational reforms have earned national recognition through the Race to the Top program.
“While the Democrats keep trying to deflect attention away from their failed record on education, Governor Corbett will keep working hard to improve our schools.”
According to the Pennsylvania Department of Education, Governor Corbett has increased state investments in our schools each year he’s been in office.
