HARRISBURG — Republican Party of Pennsylvania Chairman Rob Gleason released the following statement regarding the Democratic gubernatorial candidates’ latest debate.
“The Democratic gubernatorial candidates subscribe to a shared agenda of spending more money at the expense of the taxpayers,” Gleason said. “Democrats in the previous Administration raided the education budget and covered their tracks with one-time stimulus funds. Governor Tom Corbett has invested more state funds in education than any Governor in Pennsylvania’s history, and he’s done it without raising taxes.
“While the Democrats fight over how to tax Pennsylvanians the most, Governor Corbett has focused on ensuring that our children receive the best education possible. Governor Corbett’s successful leadership in education has been recognized on a national level through the Race to the Top program, which will allow Pennsylvania to enhance its investment in our schools.
“After Democrats left our education in critical condition, Governor Corbett has put Pennsylvania’s schools back on the right track.”
