Democratic Gubernatorial Candidates Turn Left In Philadelphia

HARRISBURG — Republican Party of Pennsylvania Chairman Rob Gleason released the following statement regarding tonight’s Democratic gubernatorial debate in Philadelphia.

“Tonight, the Democratic gubernatorial candidates tried to once again peddle their tax and spend agendas to Pennsylvania voters,” Gleason said. “Every time these Democrat gubernatorial candidates debate, it becomes a contest to see who can tax Pennsylvanians the most, and tonight was no different. No matter how many times they debate each other, the fact of the matter is that all four remaining Democrat gubernatorial candidates share the same message of higher taxes, more spending and more ObamaCare.

“While the Democratic gubernatorial candidates try to appease liberal interests groups, Governor Corbett is working hard to put Pennsylvanians back to work. Under Governor Tom Corbett’s leadership, Pennsylvania’s unemployment rate has dropped to 6.2%, a half point lower than the national average. Tom Corbett eliminated a $4.2 billion budget deficit, and has invested more state funding in our schools than ever before.

“Tom Corbett has put Pennsylvania back on the right track, and that’s why we need to send him back to Harrisburg.”
