PA GOP Statement On Democrat Croslis Endorsing Republican Ott For Lehigh County Executive

HARRISBURG — Republican Party of Pennsylvania Chairman Rob Gleason released the following statement regarding incumbent Democratic Lehigh County Executive Matt Croslis endorsing Republican Scott Ott for Lehigh County Executive:

“The message is clear: Democrats and Republicans are coming together to overwhelmingly support Scott Ott for Lehigh County Executive. As Commissioner, Scott Ott has a proven record of reducing spending, cutting taxes and protecting taxpayers. His opponent, Tom Muller is another tax-and-spend liberal pandering the failed and extreme ideas that Obama and Pelosi are pushing in Washington. You don’t have to believe me; Matt Croslis’ endorsement of Ott speaks for itself. If Democratic candidate Tom Muller can’t even get the current Democratic County Executive to support him, why should anyone in Lehigh County take the risk?”

In a statement, Ott’s campaign said: “This major cross-party endorsement affirms Scott Ott’s results-oriented approach to governance.”

Croslis, a moderate Democrat, said Thursday that he supports Ott because he brings a new perspective to county government.
