State Rep. Greg Lucas, of Edinboro, R-5th Dist., announced today that more than $300,000 in state grants will be distributed to fire departments and ambulance services in parts of Erie and Crawford counties.
Grant program funding was derived from state gaming proceeds. During its last session, the state general assembly voted to extend and expand the program so more companies would benefit from the initiative.
The grant program is administered by the Pennsylvania office of Fire Commissioner within the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency.
Grant funding provides up to $30 million each year to assist with construction or renovation of a fire or ambulance company facility, to purchase or repair equipment, or for training or reducing existing debt.
