State House Speaker Sam Smith, R-Jefferson, has slated May 21 special elections (the same day as the spring primary) for a pair of vacant House seats.
Candidates are already lining up for the 42nd House District seat held by now state Sen. Matt Smith, D-Allegheny, and the York County-based 95th District seat formerly held by Auditor General Eugene DePasquale.
For those of you playing along at home, the 42nd district includes all or parts of Mount Lebanon, Bethel Park, Scott Township and the boroughs of Green Tree, Rosslyn Farms and Thornburg.
The 95th district includes North York, Spring Garden Township, a portion of West Manchester Township, West York, and York city.
