Republican U.S. Rep. Mike Kelly of Butler has been unanimously elected to co-chair the Northeast-Midwest Congressional Coalition, a bipartisan group of House members from the 18 northeastern and midwestern States.
Kelly replaces the current Republican co-chair, Steven LaTourette of Ohio, who is retiring. He will serve alongside the Democratic Co-Chair, Rep. James McGovern of Massachusetts.
The coalition was created in 1976.
“It will be an honor to serve with my co-chair, Representative McGovern, to find common-sense, bipartisan solutions to best serve our constituents, our region, and our great nation,” Kelly said in a statement.
