Ten newly elected Republicans who will begin their terms in January participated in Tuesday’s caucus election. Members who are leaving office did not participate.

The formal election for speaker will take place in the full House when the session begins January 1.

Republicans on Election Day increased their majority from 109 members and now hold a 111-92 majority in the state House.
