PA GOP absentee ballot success shows so-called “blue wave” is crashing

According to information provided by the Pennsylvania Department of State, as a result of efforts by the Republican Party of Pennsylvania, the number of absentee ballots returned in 2018 so far favors Republicans over Democrats.

As of Friday, the number of Republican returned ballots stood at 25,968 total ballots returned, officially surpassing Democrats’ 25,861 returned absentee ballots this year.

Additionally, compared to this point in  2014, the Republican Party of Pennsylvania has doubled absentee ballot returns in this midterm election cycle.

In response, Republican Party of Pennsylvania Chairman Val DiGiorgio made the following statement:

“The strong absentee ballot numbers show Republican voters across Pennsylvania are energized and ready to cast their ballot—regardless of their location of election day—for Republicans up and down the ticket and is the latest indication that the Democrats’ hoped-for ‘blue wave’ is crashing.

“Traveling extensively throughout Pennsylvania this election cycle, I constantly hear how voters are tired of the left’s resistance-laden mob mentality.

“As we approach two weeks out from when Pennsylvanians will cast their ballots, I am looking forward to a strong effort in the final days of the 2018 campaign as we work to continue to energize voters to get out the vote, support Republican candidates, and turn 2018 into a red wave year.”
