One would think that state Democrats, who were battered by the Bonusgate scandal of the early ‘Aughts, would know electioneering on the taxpayers’ dime when they see it. This isn’t it.
It didn’t take long, of course, for the state Republican Party to fire back. Rob Brooks, the statewide GOP’s executive director, argued that the House Ethics manual cleared Barletta’s actions.
“They’ll have to do better if they’re going to hold onto this seat,” he told PennLive.
And he’s right.
