HARRISBURG – Yesterday, the Obama Administration announced the appointment of Debo Adegbile, former lawyer for convicted cop-killer Mumia Abu-Jamal, to the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights.
“Does Senator Bob Casey support the Obama Administration’s decision to appoint one of Mumia Abu-Jamal’s biggest supporters to a major civil rights commission?” Republican Party of Pennsylvania Communications Director Megan Sweeney said. “Debo Adegbile has spent years working to make a convicted cop killer a cause célèbre at the expense of Officer Danny Faulkner’s loved ones. Debo Adegbile should be condemned for his actions, not awarded a place in our government.
“Bob Casey talked about the ‘open wounds’ caused by the murder of Officer Danny Faulkner. Does Bob Casey believe those wounds have closed since the last time President Obama tried to shoehorn Debo Adegbile into his Administration. It is time for Senator Bob Casey to speak out and condemn this joke of an appointment.”
