Will Katie McGinty Disavow The Wolf-McGinty Tax Hikes?

HARRISBURG – Following news that Governor Tom Wolf has shifted away from his Administration’s push to impose ‘cradle-to-grave’ taxes on Pennsylvanians, Republican Party of Pennsylvania Communications Director Megan Sweeney released the following statement.

“When will Katie McGinty stop defending her support for the largest tax hikes in the country?” Sweeney asked. “While she was Wolf’s Chief of Staff, Katie McGinty led efforts to increase taxes on everything from diapers and daycare, to nursing home care and caskets. When Katie McGinty didn’t get her way, she supported a full budget veto that costs our schools and social services tens of millions of dollars.

“Katie McGinty helped to create a budget crisis, and then left our schools and non-profits out to dry while she was wined and dined by D.C. Democrats. Not once has Katie McGinty demonstrated one bit of remorse for her role in trying to make hard-working Pennsylvania families foot the bill for an extreme liberal agenda.

“Katie McGinty needs to answer for her role in the budget mess she created when she didn’t get the tax hikes she wanted. Pennsylvanians deserve better than silence from a chief architect of Pennsylvania’s budget crisis.”
