HARRISBURG — Republican Party of Pennsylvania Chairman Rob Gleason released the following statement regarding the passing of former U.S. Secretary of Transportation and Pennsylvania Republican National Committeeman Andrew Lewis Jr. this week.
“Drew Lewis was an honorable man who deeply loved his country and his Party,” Gleason said. “Whether it was helping Republicans win election to office in Pennsylvania or famously keeping his promise to President Gerald Ford during the Republican National Convention, Drew Lewis’ loyalty earned him respect across the country. As Secretary of Transportation, Drew maintained his dedication to the Republican principles of limited government and personal responsibility.
“On behalf of the Republican Party of Pennsylvania, I want to extend my thoughts and prayers to Secretary Lewis’ family.”
