Democrats Vote Against Restoring Funding For Schools And Social Services

HARRISBURG — Republican Party of Pennsylvania Communications Director Megan Sweeney released the following statement regarding the State House Democrats’ votes against the funding of our schools and social services.

“Today, Democrats continued their political campaign at the expense of our schools and our social services,” Sweeney said. “When Tom Wolf decided to fully veto the Republicans’ balanced, no-tax increase budget, he chose to single-handedly shut off funding for our schools and social services. Now, State House Democrats doubled down to join Governor Tom Wolf in blocking critical funding for schools and social services throughout the Commonwealth.

“Despite Governor Tom Wolf and the State House Democrats’ best efforts, Republicans will continue to fight for a budget that funds our schools and social services without raising taxes. It is unconscionable the way Governor Wolf and his special interest friends have turned their backs on our most vulnerable citizens.”
