Congressman Visits Letterkenny Army Depot

The Record-Herald

U.S. Congressman Bill Shuster, a Republican whose district includes Franklin County, spent Thursday morning at Letterkenny Army Depot in Chambersburg.

Shuster’s visit included a tour of the missile complex and an update by base leadership, where he was joined by local business and government representatives. As a senior member on the House Armed Services Committee, Shuster has been a proponent for the depot, working throughout his time in Congress to provide Letterkenny and its employees with a voice in Washington.

“It is always a privilege for me to see the work being done at Letterkenny,” said Shuster. “We must never overlook the fact that one of the most important parts of our military is the industrial base, and our capacity to build and remanufacture equipment here in the United States gives us an edge in conflicts across the globe. The work done in Franklin County is benefiting our nation and protecting our soldiers in every corner of the world, and it gives me great pride to represent the depot in Congress.”
