Governor Corbett’s Policies = More PA Jobs

HARRISBURG — Republican Party of Pennsylvania Chairman Rob Gleason released the following statement regarding Pennsylvania’s latest jobs numbers.

“Tom Corbett’s policies have created a culture of job growth in Pennsylvania,” Gleason said. “Today’s jobs report is great news for our Commonwealth. When Governor Corbett was sworn into office, he was faced with an unemployment rateover 8%. Tom Corbett’s efforts have lowered the unemployment rate to 5.6%, well below the national average. Under the leadership of Governor Tom Corbett, 184,000 Pennsylvanians are going back to work, and he’s not done yet.

“Today’s announcement serves as proof that Tom Corbett’s commonsense fiscal policies are working. I look forward to working hard to re-electing Governor Tom Corbett and Lieutenant Governor Jim Cawley.”

Today, the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry announced that Pennsylvania’s unemployment rate stands at 5.6%. The national average stands at 6.1 %.
