Fresh off delivering the Republican Party rebuttal to the State of the Union address, Cathy McMorris Rodgers joined fellow U.S. Rep. Patrick Meehan to host a Women in Business roundtable discussion Friday at Main Line Health.

McMorris Rodgers, R-Wash., and Meehan, R-7, of Upper Darby, spearheaded a discussion that examined ways to expand business and how to balance a career and a family. The forum was attended by about a dozen local businesswomen.

McMorris Rodgers acknowledged these difficulties in her own career.

Now in her fifth term on Capitol Hill, McMorris Rodgers is the highest-ranking Republican woman in Congress. She started her congressional career as a single woman but has since married and has three children, including an infant.
