HARRISBURG — Republican Party of Pennsylvania Chairman Rob Gleason released the following statement regarding President Barack Obama’s trip to Western Pennsylvania.
“President Obama’s stop in Pittsburgh contains more of the same empty rhetoric we heard last night,” Gleason said. “President Obama rammed through his liberal agenda with Democrat supermajorities in Congress and, as a result, we ended up with disastrous policies like ObamaCare. Now that Americans are fighting back against his radical liberal policies, the President has decided to ignore the will of the people and put his agenda through by executive order.
“The President has attached an anchor to the national economy by declaring a ‘War on Coal.’ We have Pennsylvania Democrats who want to shut down the emerging natural gas industry and put thousands of people out of work. Pennsylvanians shouldn’t be forced to lose their jobs to appease President Obama and the Democrats’ liberal agenda.
“It’s time for President Obama and the Democrats to abandon their high tax, job-killing policies and enact common sense policies that will put Pennsylvanians first.”
