Governor Corbett and Republican legislators pass an on-time budget with record investments in Pennsylvania education
HARRISBURG, PA- Republican Party of Pennsylvania Chairman Rob Gleason released the following statement regarding the on-time passage of the Commonwealth’s FY 2013-2014 budget today.
“I applaud Governor Corbett and members of the Pennsylvania State Senate and State House for their leadership and hard work to keep Pennsylvania on the path that invests a record amount in education funding and keeps us moving toward prosperity.”
“Governor Corbett’s budget is an education budget that puts more Pennsylvania dollars in education than ever before. Governor Corbett and Republicans in the State Senate and State House have made education a clear priority without raising taxes. Despite the ongoing attacks from special interests, Governor Corbett has put students and their families first.
“Governor Corbett continues to push for our priorities. Whether it’s passing a no-tax increase budget on time for the third time in a row or helping create over 116,000 private sector jobs, Governor Corbett has kept his promises and put Pennsylvania on the right track.”
