Governor Corbett wasn’t the only one making an impression during his time in Erie.
First Lady Susan Corbett visited Woodrow Wilson Middle School Friday afternoon.
She stopped by during their “activity period,” to see what the kids were up to.
She got a firsthand look at some of the 25 different clubs and activities, including the “STEM” club, which focuses on key areas of science, technology, engineering and math.
The visit was part of Mrs. Corbett’s Opening Doors initiative, which promotes middle school education, to keep students on track, to graduate high school on time.
“I’m also looking at schools that have interesting programs… and certainly the activities program here at Woodrow Wilson Middle School is an exceptional program and a great role model for how you can keep kids engaged,” Mrs. Corbett said.
