Governor Tom Corbett today attended a ribbon cutting for Waste Management’s new compressed natural gas (CNG) refueling facility in Bristol, Bucks County.
The facility will be used to refuel Waste Management’s fleet of CNG trucks. The station will also be open to the public.
“Pennsylvania’s natural gas development is changing the way we live, work and save,” Corbett said. “The cost of heating our homes and running our cars and trucks is falling while employment and innovation are on the rise.”
“Waste Management recognizes the great asset we have here in Pennsylvania; the Marcellus Shale is now the most productive gas field in the world,” Corbett said. “In converting its truck fleet to CNG, Waste Management is investing in the future, saving on fuel costs, contributing to our energy independence and helping the environment.”
Corbett noted that Waste Management has the largest CNG fleet of heavy duty commercial trucks in the country. “They realize the opportunity they have here,” Corbett said.
Waste Management is the United States’ leader in waste collection, transfer, resource recovery, recycling and disposal. The company currently has 2,000 CNG trucks deployed across its national fleet.
