PA GOP Chairman Applauds House Leadership For Introducing Governor Corbett’s Plan To Reform Liquor Sales In PA

HARRISBURG — Republican Party of Pennsylvania Chairman Rob Gleason released the following statement thanking leaders in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for introducing Governor Corbett’s plan to get Pennsylvania out of the business of selling alcohol:

“I applaud House Majority Leader Mike Turzai and his colleagues in the Pennsylvania House for introducing legislation to get Pennsylvania out of the business of selling alcohol. In last month’s budget address, Governor Corbett put forth a bold plan to end Pennsylvania’s 80-year monopoly on liquor sales and give Pennsylvania consumers the same rights that citizens in 48 other states already enjoy. While putting beer and wine in grocery stores by itself remains overwhelmingly popular, the best part of the Governor’s plan is the commitment of over $1 billion to the future of our children,” said Chairman Gleason.
