They will spend five weeks in Washington, D.C., assisting with legislative projects, and another five weeks in one of Perry’s district offices, assisting with constituent casework.
Students will receive a weekly stipend during the entire internship. And during the Washington, D.C., portion of the internship, the 4th District Internship Association will provide students with free housing at an area university within walking distance to public transportation, according to the release.
Students are selected based on academic performance, extracurricular activities and a demonstrated commitment to the ideals of public service, according to the release. Interns are selected on a non-partisan basis.
