Farry Receives Firefighter Award

State Rep. Frank Farry, R-142, and chief of the Langhorne-Middletown Fire Co., has been recognized by the Firemen’s Legislative Federation of Pennsylvania.

The award is presented to a legislator who has shown outstanding support for Pennsylvania emergency services.

Farry was chosen as a recipient because of his sponsorship of the cancer presumption legislation (Act 46 of 2011), which designated cancer as an occupational disease for firefighters. He also supported expansion of the Fire Company and Volunteer Ambulance Service Grant Program (Act 78 of 2012).

Tom Savage, president of the federation, recognized Farry’s strong advocacy for the emergency services.

“It is an honor to receive an award like this from an organization that has been a voice of advocacy for emergency services throughout Pennsylvania for more than 50 years,” Farry said.
