Brubaker Will Collect Greeting Cards For U.S. Soldiers

Lancaster Intelligencer Journal

State Sen. Mike Brubaker will help collect cards and messages of support from Lancaster County residents to be delivered to members of the Armed Forces again this holiday season.

Local residents can drop off messages of support for U.S. troops to Brubaker’s district office at 301 E. Main St. Lititz. Brubaker and his staff will collect cards for U.S. military personnel until Dec. 3, and the cards will be sorted and mailed on or before Dec. 7.

Last year, local residents dropped off more than 4,000 messages of support and appreciation for the men and women who are serving in the Armed Forces and soldiers at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center.

“While many of us enjoy the holiday season with family and friends, tens of thousands of members of the military are deployed across the globe fighting for our safety and freedom,” Brubaker said. “It is important to honor their sacrifices and let them know how much we appreciate their service. I urge all local residents to take a few minutes to join me in expressing our thanks for their efforts.”

The collection effort will be conducted in conjunction with the American Red Cross Holiday Mail for Heroes program. More information on the program is available online at www.redcross.org/holidaymail and on Brubaker’s website at www.senatorbrubaker.com.
