Republican Mitt Romney will sweep into Philadelphia Friday to for a series of events at the Union League that organizers expect will generate between $3.5 million and $4 million for his campaign.
“I am extremely pleased at the response,” said Republican National Committeeman Bob Asher, who is handling fundraising for Romney in Pennsylvania.
The expected strong showing comes after a series of polls that suggest Romney trails President Obama in the state. So far, Romney is not scheduled to hold any public campaign events on his trip to Philadelphia.
