PA GOP Chairman Statement On President Obama’s Remarks On “Redistribution”

HARRISBURG — Republican Party of Pennsylvania Chairman Rob Gleason issued the following statement regarding the recently unearthed video of President Obama expressing his support for the redistribution of wealth in America:

“Recently unearthed footage showing then-state Senator Obama expressing support for redistribution of wealth in America is disappointing, but not surprising. For the past four years, President Obama has based his presidency on a campaign of envy and class warfare. Rather than celebrating the accomplishments and successes of America’s entrepreneurial citizens, President Obama has instead attacked and diminished those successful individuals. The President’s ‘You didn’t build that” comments weren’t a fluke; as this latest video shows, a government-centered society in one that the President truly believes in. In fact, if you did ‘build that’ it is clear that he thinks you owe him a piece of it.

“Unlike President Obama, Mitt Romney wants to empower individuals to reach their fullest potential. Mitt Romney believes that growing our economy and our free enterprise system has lifted more people out of poverty than any government program ever could. Mitt Romney will close the door on President Obama’s four years of broken promises by jump starting our stagnant economy, putting the millions of unemployed Americans back to work and giving the citizens of this country the chance to achieve success.”
