Marino ‘Strongly Condemns’ Attack

U.S. Rep. Tom Marino (R-PA) issued the flowing statement Wednesday morning in response to the attack on the U.S. consulate in Libya:

“Last night, a deliberate attack on our consulate in Benghazi led to the death of four Americans, including Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens. I strongly condemn this tragic attack and the destructive, hate-filled demonstrations at our embassy in Cairo.

“Those responsible for this atrocity need to be brought to justice. We must continue to demonstrate our strength and resilience to those who wish us harm in the Middle East as we stand by those nations and people in the region who continue to work for peace, freedom and liberty.

“As a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, I have had the opportunity to see first-hand the dedication of our diplomats and the honor with which they represent all of us abroad. My thoughts and prayers are with the family of Ambassador Stevens, the families of the three other embassy officials who were killed in the assault and with our overseas diplomatic corps as they continue their important work while mourning the loss of colleagues.”
